Midas is a small second home community that swells to 54 residents in the summer.  We are situated in the middle of the BLM open range, which is leased out to the Buckingham Ranch out of Paradise for grazing. During that time, our full time residents increase by up to 100 head!  While we try to keep our bovine neighbors off the street and out of our yards, its not uncommon to see a large gathering under the apple tree in Theresa Elmore's lot, or in the shade at Skip and Dory's. 2010 will be their last year with us, as the community has voted to fence them out of the town. Midas was one of the last towns to be unfenced in Open Range.
